My husband and I love going out to eat at restaurants around Madison. It’s a great way to get out of the house, enjoy some great (...or not so great) food, and experience a new atmosphere together. It’s no secret that Madison’s food scene is booming with new restaurants popping up left and right, but one thing that often ruins the mood is finally arriving and being told there’s an hour wait. With Madison’s population rising, and the power of word-of-mouth and social media, this is often the scenario that we run into.

Our first thought is to see if they take reservations, but after minutes of trying to navigate their not-so-user-friendly website, we realize that there is no information about reservations. The next step is to call, which we both hate doing. They’re busy! We’re nervous. We call anyway, and they say they don’t take reservations. Our final step in the endeavor is to Google the establishment and scroll until we can see their “Popular Times”, which shows they’re “busier than normal”, and we’re back to square one. 15 minutes officially down the drain, and we succumb to eating at Taco Bell once again.

Thus, Eatzy was born.
